Summary

Independently determine and prepare the Requisitions for packages of mechanical components and/or equipment that are required in a project. Assists in evaluating the technical aspects of bids and executing in order to deliver the packages on time and to ensure that the packages meet the technical requirements.

Roles & Responsibilities

  • Understand the specifications and requirements in the area of marine mechanical packages and equipment (such as Essential and Emergency Generator, Non API pumps, Fire water pumps, Garco pumps, Inert Gas Generator package, low and High Foam Expansion Packages, etc., ) of the assigned package.
  • Responsible for Mechanical Marine vendor packaged equipment in compliance with applicable International codes (such as IMO, SOLAS) Classification Rules, ASME, etc.,
  • Independently developed technical specifications/standards and Requisitions for marine packaged equipment and systems such as Essential and Emergency generators, Non API pumps, Inert Gas Generator package, low and High Foam Expansion Packages, etc.
  • Independently evaluates the technical aspects of bids received from suppliers and concludes assessment of the bids. Generally, less complex packages and middle-risk equipment are assigned.
  • Assists in placing and executing orders. After orders, independently reviews Supplier documents (such as data sheets, drawings) for their completeness, accuracy and compliance. Being the focal point, liaises and coordinates with various stakeholders.
  • Provides technical/engineering support/visit and advice for quality work at supplier shop and Construction/Commissioning work at site
  • Independently resolves technical issues using expert knowledge and technical know-how that may arise during the execution of package engineering, fabrication and post-delivery.
  • To ensure business activities and decisions conform to the laws and regulations and demonstrate a high standard of ethical behaviour.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering
  • Minimum 10 years of relevant working experience in Mechanical engineering in the oil and gas sector
  • Experience in FPSO, off-shore application
  • Possess relevant experience working on EPC projects
  • Shall be conversant with design standards and International Industry Codes such as ASME, NFPA, International codes (such as IMO, SOLAS), Classification Rules and regulations, etc
