Senior Engineer, Mechanical (Rotating Equipment)

Job Scope: To independently define concepts, critical deliverables, lead, plan, manage and control engineering deliverables required for the assigned small-middle scale projects effectively and to efficiently determine requisitions for packages for mechanical components and/or equipment, execute, deliver the packages on time in compliance with company specifications, procedures and to independently deal with all stakeholders and resolve all issues of the assigned packages, and provide guidance to the assigned team.

Roles & Responsibilities

  • Conversant with specifications and requirements for mechanical rotating equipment (such as Process gas Compressors, Screw compressor packages, Reciprocating compressors, Gas Turbines, Sea Water Injection Pumps, etc.,) and requirements of Industry Codes and Standards, Classification Society rules and all relevant Regulatory.
  • Responsible for the design and selection of rotating equipment on EPC projects through the various engineering work phases (i.e. Feasibility / FEED studies, and detailed engineering for Offshore, FPSO Projects)
  • Plans and directs technical specifications/standards and Requisitions for engineers. Ensures all technical requirements are incorporated into engineering deliverables. Review them and validate them with the Section head, Project Management Team and client.
  • Independently evaluates the technical aspects of bids received from suppliers and concludes technical assessment. Generally, Lead Engineers are assigned with complex packages and/or high-risk equipment.
  • Assists in placing and executing the orders. After orders, independently review supplier documents (such as data sheets, and drawings) for their completeness, accuracy and compliance. Being the focal point, liaises and coordinates with various stakeholders.
  • Oversees the technical and administrative management of the project mechanical team and ensures quality/schedule of deliverables from the team.
  • Provides technical/engineering support/visit and advice for quality work at supplier shop and Construction/Commissioning work at site.
  • Independently resolves technical issues using expert knowledge and technical know-how that may arise during the execution of package engineering, fabrication and post-delivery.
  • Ensures business activities and decisions conform to the laws and regulations and demonstrates a high standard of ethical behavior.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering
  • Minimum 15 years relevant working experience in mechanical engineering in the oil and gas sector, preferable experience in FPSO, offshore application
  • Possess relevant experience working on EPC projects
  • Shall be conversant with design standards and International Industry Codes such as ASME, API, etc.
